An AI assistant has been added to Opera’s web browser app for iOS. The company today announced that Opera for iOS will include Aria, a browser AI product co-developed with OpenAI. It is built directly into your web browser and is free to all users.
This AI solution was previously released in Opera for desktop and Opera for Android and has now reached 1 million users. With the addition of iOS support, Aria is now available on all major platforms, including his Mac, Windows, Linux, Android, and now iOS, the company said.
However, use of Aria is at the discretion of individual users. If you want to use AI services, you can sign up. It is not compulsory for everyone. Aria then offers a range of intelligent insights and ideas, as well as responsive voice commands. Users must also be signed in to an Opera account to use Aria. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one through the app.
Aria itself is built on Opera’s own “Composer” infrastructure and is connected to OpenAI’s GPT technology. Composer will enable Aria to connect to multiple AI models and expand AI capabilities in search and AI services in the future, including further moves such as Generative AI, which Opera plans to announce at a later date.
Like other AI search companions, Opera for iOS has a chatbot-like interface that lets you ask questions and get answers instead of searching the web for answers. AI is available from the Opera iOS app’s More menu (far right of the bottom navigation bar). If you prefer, you can tap the microphone button instead of typing to send your question to Aria.
After announcing Aria’s one-million-user milestone last month, the company noted how the addition of AI impacted other metrics. At the time, Opera co-CEO Lin Song said, “While Aria’s first release was encouraging, we are equally pleased with the quality of our users’ early engagement with our AI tools.” . “We’re also seeing more searches per session, more pageviews, and more total time spent.”
Aria isn’t Opera’s first AI solution. The company was previously a pioneer in AI prompts, allowing users to quickly initiate conversations with a generative AI service to shorten or explain articles, generate tweets, and generate tweets based on highlighted text. We made it possible to request related content.
Opera for iOS is a free download and includes useful features such as a built-in ad blocker, free his VPN, tracking protection, crypto wallets, support for private browsing, and more.
