Stellantis-Owned DS Automobiles Integrates ChatGPT AI Chatbot into Vehicles

After ChatGPT’s successful launch last year, DS Automobiles, a Stellantis-owned company, has achieved a new milestone in the world of artificial intelligence by incorporating ChatGPT into its vehicles. This move positions DS Automobiles as the first automaker to seamlessly integrate AI chatbot functionality into its vehicles. Stellantis officially announced this achievement and outlined the requirements for accessing this innovative feature, which will initially be extended to the first 20,000 registered users.

In the official statement, Stellantis disclosed that DS Automobiles has seamlessly integrated the ChatGPT AI chatbot into their vehicles, empowering users to obtain accurate and immediate responses. This AI chatbot operates similarly to in-car virtual assistants like Alexa or Siri. DS Automobiles is embarking on a pilot phase lasting six months, granting access to 20,000 registered users.

To enjoy this feature, users should own a DS 3, DS 4, DS 7, or DS 9 model equipped with an active DS IRIS system. Engaging in a conversation with the DS IRIS system is as simple as saying “OK IRIS” and pressing the dedicated button on the steering wheel.

The integration of ChatGPT with the DS IRIS SYSTEM will be provided at no extra cost to the first 20,000 registered users who make a purchase within the DS 3, DS 4, DS 7, and DS 9 range of vehicles between October 19 and February 29. To activate this innovative system, users can contact the DS Services Store. During the pilot phase, this integration will be accessible exclusively in European regions, including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy. The feature will be available in the national languages of all these countries.

It’s worth noting that ChatGPT, the AI chatbot, was initially introduced in November last year and is now accessible on both mobile applications and web platforms.
